These snow characters are adorable!
If we get snow here in NC this winter … I’m finding me a mailbox.
One of my hobbies lately has been to go to Goodwill and look for good books.
Primarily, Graphic Design related books. So far my sister has discovered “The Art of Typography” by Martin Solomon, and I purchased the “Chicago Manual of Style”. Both for the outrageously cheap price of $1 each!
Today, my lovely mom and I stopped by Goodwill on the way home. And what to my wondering eyes did appear, a fantastic new book to begin the new year! It was “Free Prize Inside: The Next Big Marketing Idea” by Seth Godin, and I am so thrilled at my new find. I have read the first page, but can’t wait to get through the rest of it.
It will be joining my growing design library:
Have you found any spectacular bargains lately?
Haven’t you ever wanted to know how to create the worst, ugliest, most badly designed website ever know to man?
Yeah, I thought so.
Check out how you can here.
This is the second domain name I have purchased for myself. I’m pretty excited.
When I was about nine years old, I started coding web pages. At one time, I boasted of having created over 200 sites. While that was probably true, I’m absolutely positive that only about 1% of those were well designed.
Since then, I have honed my design skills through various ways: looking at what others have created, reading books & magazines, and studying at Wake Technical Community College.
In this blog, I intend to share with you my exciting foray into the world of graphic design. What I’m learning, amazing designers & people I’ve met (as Mike Joosse said at DYF 2008, “everyone is a designer!”), and great design I’ve discovered.
au revoir!
